Story
I'm taking part in the 2013 Melbourne Marathon Festival and hoping to raise much needed funds for the Isabella & Marcus Fund.
A work friend of mine started this charity after she lost her daughter to the disease. I am running to raise awareness and funds to support this charity to help them raise money for research into paediatric brainstem tumours, with the hope of finding a cure.
This October, I’m going to be sweating it out and doing my best to complete a gruelling course through the streets of Melbourne and ending back at the world famous 'G!
I am honoured to be a part of this amazing race and helping a great cause, and I’d really appreciate your support in this endeavour.

The Isabella and Marcus Paediatric Brainstem Tumour Fund, A sub-fund of Australian Communities Foundation
You may be surprised to learn that brain tumours are the leading cause of cancer deaths in children in Australia. The Isabella and Marcus Fund is funding 3 laboratories in Melbourne and providing PhD scholarships to find a cure for the brainstem tumour known as DIPG, which mainly affects children between 5 & 9 years of age and offers no prospect for survival.
