Story
Take part in the Medibank Melbourne Marathon Festival and help make wishes come true for seriously-ill children.
Tackle the Melbourne Marathon as part of Team Wish and it will be doubly rewarding! Add in an extra challenge – fundraising for Make-A-Wish® Australia – and you will not only gain a sense of personal achievement, but will know you have made a difference to the lives of others too.
Make-A-Wish grants wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions, providing hope, strength and joy when most needed. Over 7,000 children in Australia have had wishes granted since 1985.
As a Team Wish member, we’ll be with you every step of the way. You’ll receive:
- Motivation to help you stay on track
- Support and encouragement on the day of the big event
- Ongoing fundraising advice, including handy hints to make raising money simple
- Fundraising incentives
Make-A-Wish receives no ongoing government funding and is therefore critically reliant on generous support from the community to continue its wish granting work.

Meet Elias Elias has epilepsy, chronic lung disease and cerebral palsy. When he first visited the beach it was obvious that Elias loved the sun, sand and water. However, for many years, his condition meant he had to watch from the sidelines while friends and family enjoyed the water. That was until his wish came true...
