***UPDATE 12/10: Thanks to all, we smashed the target. Now to the actual run. Won't be pretty but hopefully i'll get there in the end. Thanks again.
***UPDATE 17/6: Just a quick update to say that after only 4 days, we have surpassed the $500 mark already and the beard will be gone, lock it in! Big thanks to everyone for being so generous with their donations and for all the support i've received.
Hello All
After much deliberation, I have decided to undertake the half marathon course in the 2013 Melbourne Marathon Festival.
This will be my first attempt at completing a race of this distance and I thought it would also be the perfect opportunity to raise some money for charity.
My goal is to raise $1000 for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
To try and kick-start my fundraising efforts, I will be shaving off the rugged beard that I have been growing the past 9 weeks if I can reach the $500 mark by July 19th. For those of you - and there are many - that don't like the hairy look, then here is your chance to see it gone.
All donations are much appreciated no matter how big or small. At the end of the fundraising period I would also like to match the total amount raised hopefully giving us a good amount to give to the NBCF.
