Story
Hi, and welcome to my fundraising page!
After years of questioning whether I had it in me to run a marathon I have finally decided to take the plunge, get my running shoes on, and prepare for the longest distance I have ever ran in my life.
Like others who ran before me – Roger Bannister, Paula Radcliffe, Steve Moneghetti, and Forest Gump, I will don my running shoes and look to break land/speed records……ok, so maybe I’ll just look to cross the 42KM finish line in a (fairly) respectable time.
I am looking for support and inspiration.
Support, I am sure I will get from you guys
Inspiration - Well, what better way to get inspired than to do something for a good cause.
The serious stuff……
Cancer is the leading cause of death in Australia with over 39,800 people succumbing each year, in spite of a 30 percent improvement in survival over the last two decades.
1 in 3 Australian men and 1 in 4 Australian women will be directly affected by cancer before the age of 75*. I lost my own father a couple of years ago at the age of 61. Cancer does not discriminate. It can, and does, affect people of all ages.
This is why I have chosen to raise money for The Australian Cancer Research Foundation.

I encourage you to give generously to this cause, one which is close to my heart.
