Timothy Beasley - Melbourne Marathon
Story
For the fourth time I’ll be taking to the bitchuman as part of 2013 Melbourne Marathon Festival and hoping to raise much needed funds for Team World Vision.
Although I often wonder why I put myself through such a painful experience (especially for the last 10km) I have caught a disease commonly found in Kenya known as the Running Bug. I'm please to say that I have had a full uninterrupted 19 weeks of training leading up to the 13th of October and although my goal time of sub 3 hours is looking unlikely, my training times suggest I should finish with a time around 3.20 hours. Oh well guess I’ll have to try again next year.
Far more importantly though I am honoured to be a part of Team World Vision and helping a great cause, and I’d really appreciate your support.
All funds raised go to World Vision’s Multiplying Gift Appeal (MGA), a partnership program with the United Nations that delivers urgent food and relief essentials to desperately hungry children and their families around the world.
According to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation, around 870 million people wake up each day, denied the basic human right to food. Every $10 raised by Team World Vision members could help World Vision provide enough life-saving food to feed 16 children for one month in a school feeding program.
Thank you for your support and helping to make a difference.
Tim
